The 2025 Yokohama UKULELE PICNIC has come to a successful close. This grand event, bringing together ukulele enthusiasts from around the world, is not only a collision of music and passion but also a key stage for PICKAPICK to engage deeply with Japanese fans. As a partner of TANTAN, Japan’s largest ukulele store, PICKAPICK made a stunning appearance with its full range of premium ukuleles, fun merchandise, and exclusive designs, infusing the venue with boundless energy.

Teaming Up with TANTAN for a Ukulele Carnival
With the theme “Music Knows No Bounds, Joy for All,” UKULELE PICNIC 2025 attracted numerous top Japanese ukulele artists and a large crowd of enthusiasts. By joining forces with TANTAN for this exhibition, PICKAPICK leveraged TANTAN’s profound influence in Japan’s ukulele industry to quickly introduce its signature instruments and merchandise to fans. The venue featured a dedicated experience zone, along with a variety of interactive activities. Among these, the “PICKAPICK Merchandise Raffle” was a highlight—practical items like canvas bags, scent cards, kazoos, and custom coasters were well-loved. Additionally, PICKAPICK’s exclusive accessories such as ukulele straps, soft felt picks, and creative hand-drawn notebooks stood out for their unique design and quality, becoming the “most memorable” merchandise on-site. Many fans commented, “As soon as I got the notebook, I wanted to use it to record my ukulele practice right away.”

From High-End Stage Series to Shinning Pink Banjolele, Wowing the Crowd
PICKAPICK’s exhibition area at this event was like a “Ukulele Boutique Museum,” showcasing both the newly launched high-end handmade Stage Series and classic models that gained attention at previous Soundmesse events. Each instrument reflects PICKAPICK’s uncompromising pursuit of craftsmanship and sound.
Stage Series New Releases: The SS3 Concert Solid Spruce Ukulele won over the audience with its clear, bright tone; the SM3 Concert Solid Mahogany Ukulele offers a warm, mellow texture suitable for various music styles; the SK3 Concert Solid Koa Ukulele, with its unique wooden resonance, became a favorite among fingerstyle players.

Unique & Stylish Models: The sparkly pink mini bass caught countless cameras with its sweet appearance; the vintage-style banjolele added a unique touch to the venue with its distinctive banjo-like tone.

Popular Returning Model: The “FADING BLUE” 26-inch solid-body ukulele, first exhibited at Soundmesse earlier this year, remained incredibly popular at this event. Its flamed maple top boasts a dreamy texture, and its unique sound impressed many artists—Japan’s top ukulele artist Tomoki Suzuki (Suzuki Tomoki) tried it out on-site and spoke highly of its sound quality and appearance.

Notably, PICKAPICK officially announced that its future ukuleles will be categorized by soundhole design: standard models will feature vertical honeycomb soundholes, balancing practicality and recognition; high-end models will be upgraded with S-shaped wave soundholes, offering enhanced design appeal and acoustic optimization. This unique soundhole design became an “eye-catcher” at the event, with many artists noting, “You can feel the brand’s attention to detail just from the appearance, and after playing, you’ll find the tone is more layered too.”

Top Artists Visit, Witnessing the Brand’s Strength

PICKAPICK’s exhibition area was a “starry spot,” with many renowned artists from Japan’s ukulele scene stopping by to experience the brand’s instruments. Ebak, known for rock-style ukulele playing, performed dynamic pieces on a PICKAPICK ukulele, fully demonstrating the versatility of the instrument; popular and talented player KYAS also visited the area to experience the design and sound characteristics of the Stage Series up close; promising young players Kazuma and kaishin drew a large crowd of young fans with their energetic performances; cajón player rakkyo also attended to interact, sharing a relaxed and joyful musical atmosphere with on-site fans. In addition, PICKAPICK’s long-time friend, Holoholo Cafe, showed support, adding more warmth to the exhibition area.
Offline Experiences Continue, Spreading a Joyful Lifestyle

Though UKULELE PICNIC 2025 has ended, PICKAPICK’s connection with fans continues. All PICKAPICK ukuleles showcased at the event will be on display at TANTAN stores afterward. Fans eager to experience the feel and tone of these instruments in person can visit TANTAN’s stores.

For PICKAPICK, this event was more than just a brand showcase—it was a “spread of a joyful lifestyle.” Through exquisite ukulele merchandise, music is integrated into daily life; through high-quality instruments, more people can feel the joy of playing. In the future, PICKAPICK will continue to bring more surprises to ukulele enthusiasts worldwide with its innovative designs and craftsmanship.
