Care & Maintenance
How do I clean my PICKAPICK ukulele?
The best way to keep your PICKAPICK ukulele clean is to be proactive. After each play, wipe the strings with a soft, 100% cotton cloth to keep strings and fretboard clean. Finger oils can corrode frets and loosen glue over time, affecting playability. If the fretboard is dirty, remove strings and gently clean with steel wool. When frets shine again, wipe fretboard with mineral or lemon oil. For a really dirty fretboard, repeat.
For satin finish PICKAPICK ukuleles, clean with a soft, 100% cotton cloth. Don’t use guitar polish as it can create glossy areas that don’t match the satin finish.
For gloss finish PICKAPICK ukuleles, use a 100% cotton cloth and quality guitar polish. Follow the instructions on the polish bottle. Avoid using polish too often as it may make the gloss finish cloudy over time.
Where should I store my PICKAPICK instrument?
The best place to store your PICKAPICK instrument is in your hands while making music. But when you need to put it down, place it in its case. If you live in a dry area or use home heating in winter, buy a quality humidifier for the case to prevent cracks and ensure good playability. If you leave your ukulele out of its case when not in use, put it on a stand or wall mount.
Restringing your PICKAPICK ukulele?
The PICKAPICK ukulele uses strings without a ball end. Knowing how to tie a proper knot at the bridge is important. The strings are designed to be stretched properly before playing. Stretching the strings ensures good tuning and playability.
Avoid Humidity Area
The ideal temperature for storing a PICKAPICK ukulele is around 70 degrees Fahrenheit, and the ideal humidity is between 45%-55%. Avoid extreme temperatures and humidity to prevent sound impairment.
Keep It Clean
Dirt, dust, sweat, and grease from your hands can stain and affect the wood. Use a cleaning cloth to remove dust and stickiness.
